Interpersonal Skills Development

Skills that matter beyond the classroom

The Interpersonal Skills Development Program focuses on the human side of leadership, how to express yourself clearly, collaborate effectively, and lead with purpose and empathy.

Through interactive workshops, personal growth sessions, and community projects, participants explore their strengths, build the confidence to speak up, and the skills to bring people together.

Program Content

  • The life skills training program covers: decision making, impacts of social media, managing stress and family communication, and building healthy relationships. These sessions are facilitated by trained volunteers in a safe and non-judgmental environment.

  • There are many forms of learning and in addition to the workshops we included field trip days to insert experiential learning. The program includes a trip to Activate (an indoor active gaming facility with problem-solving challenges), rock climbing session, and treetop trekking. Lastly, to encourage self-appreciation, the program will end with a final celebration to honour everyone's hard work. For field trips, we will meet in Markham and chartered busing will be arranged by Vision Youth.

  • Sessions run Saturday afternoons from 1:30 to 4:30 pm, September 12 to December 5, 2026 with no session on October 10, 2026 (Thanksgiving). The location will be in Markham or Richmond Hill — the exact venue will be confirmed and communicated to registered families as soon as it is finalized.

  • The gap between the end of the Outdoor Leadership Program (August 16) and the start of the Interpersonal Skills program (September 12) is intentional. It gives families time to plan and enjoy summer vacation without the program schedule getting in the way. We want this experience to fit into your family's life, not compete with it.
