No experience is needed at all. The six coached practice sessions at Lake Wilcox are specifically designed to take participants from zero experience to race-ready. Coaches focus on paddling fundamentals, team synchronization, and race preparation from the very first session.

The $138 fee is all-inclusive. It covers all six coached practice sessions at Lake Wilcox, race registration at the Toronto International Dragon Boat Race Festival, and a team jersey. There are no additional fees.

This is the 38th annual Toronto International Dragon Boat Race Festival, held at Toronto Centre Island on June 13, 2026. It is one of the largest dragon boat festivals in North America — a truly exciting and memorable event. Families are welcome to attend and cheer on the team.

Life jackets are worn at all times on the water. Participants do not need to be strong swimmers — safety equipment is always in place. Our coaches are trained in water safety protocols. If you have specific concerns about your child's comfort on water, please contact us before registering.

Participants should wear comfortable athletic clothing they don't mind getting wet, bring a water bottle, sunscreen, and a change of clothes. Closed-toe shoes or water shoes are recommended. A full preparation list will be sent to all registered participants before the first session.
